Measure W: Supporting our local high schools (including miramonte)
Our local high schools have experienced significant cuts in the past couple of years because of inadequate funding - that means fewer class offerings, larger class sizes, one librarian shared by 4 high schools, and fewer academic counselors. Students are feeling the impact. But there is something we can do about it. Measure W will be on the ballot on November 3 and if it passes, it will generate $6M a year for our high schools. If it doesn’t pass, more cuts are coming. Be a part of the solution and join SHPC in endorsing, get a yard sign, donate to the campaign, or volunteer.

About SHPC
On behalf of the Sleepy Hollow Parents’ Club (SHPC), we would like to extend a warm welcome to all our families, both new and returning! We are delighted to have you as part of our elementary school community.
What is SHPC?
SHPC is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting student welfare and fostering a strong partnership between parents/caregivers of Sleepy Hollow Elementary and OUSD administrators/teachers. Our primary goals are to:
- Build a community where everyone feels welcome and supported
- Share helpful information and resources with families, and
- Fundraise to ensure our students continue to have the best possible education

We send out a weekly newsletter called the Hollow Log every Friday, so look out for those communications - they’re packed full of helpful information. We also offer a SHPC calendar, so make sure to subscribe so our school events and special schedules like minimum days integrate right to your mobile calendar!
Sleepy Hollow offers a truly special elementary school experience for our children and we are so glad you’re part of it. We look forward to seeing all of you very soon!
